3rd Abbé Grégoire Innovation Days – Call for Special Interest Group Chairs

Research on innovation has become a hot topic over the past years. This topic is now multiform and has
spread amongst most of the fields in social sciences. Numerous issues about innovation are studied with
various focus such as individuals, organizations, economic systems or political systems. The 3rd Abbé Grégoire
Innovation Days aims to highlight the latest research on innovation. With this event, we intend to contribute
to the field and to develop the research community around innovation.
The second edition, held in March 2017, hosted 27 panels where 112 papers were debated in various
disciplines from management to finance and economics, all focusing on innovation.
The 3rd Abbé Grégoire Innovation Days, to be held in Paris on 3 – 4 April 2018 now welcomes applications for
Special Interest Group (SIG) chairs. We will be pleased to see you involved in the making of the conference.
The 3rd Abbé Grégoire Innovation Days aims to be an open and inclusive event for everyone involved in research
on innovation and related topics.

If you wish to be involved in the building of a multidisciplinary network of academics working on
innovation, you can help us by submitting your application for SIG chair. We welcome all topic suggestions
related to innovation, preferably in the areas of management and economics.
Application Guidelines:

  1. Describe in a short email the topic you would like to supervise during the event and your
    motivations for taking this responsibility;
  2. Please include in your application some ideas about how you will promote this SIG, as well as the
    3nd Abbé Grégroire Innovation Days. Specify the networks and communication channels you will build
    on to promote the event;
  3. Join a CV;

The role of SIG chairs is voluntary, but bear in mind that few responsibilities come along with it in case you
are selected:

  1. Scientific Committee. Your application also implies that you are willing to be involved in the
    activities of the Scientific Committee. Your advices will be of precious help to the success of this
    research day, inasmuch as your selection is based on your academic achievements and legitimacy
    on your SIG topic;
  2. Communication. We expect you to communicate our call for papers (to be sent by mid-September)
    within your networks (labs, colleagues, PhD candidates, co-authors), as well as to promote your
    SIG through the same channels;
  3. Responsibility regarding the scientific content. As SIG chair, you will have to take part to the papers’
    selection process, based on a double-blind review of either an extended abstract or a full paper.
    Based on your expertise, you will be able to select the reviewers and help the Organisation
    Committee (OC) to manage the tasks related to the papers’ selection process;
  4. Organisation of your SIG’s tracks. In case you receive and select a number of papers that exceed a
    certain threshold (above 6), it will be possible to divide your SIG into two or three panels. In this
    case, you will manage together with the OC the distribution of the papers among the various panels
    of your track. Due to space constraints, the OC may have to limit the number of accepted paper if
    we receive too many submission. In this case, you will be asked to select a limited number of papers
    for your SIG.
  5. Journal partnership. The 3nd Abbé Grégoire Innovation Days has concluded partnerships with scientific
    journals relevant on your topic, so the Organisation Committee could ask you to commit to the
    selection and/or management of a journal special issue;
  6. Respect the deadlines established by the Organisation Committee.
